SUO Challenge #95 - Featuring Flowers

Seems a perfect topic for me!!  Basic instructions from Stampin connection. My dimensions are slightly different- I simply cut a pice of A4 cardstock across its width at 31/2" and scored and 31/2, and 7 inches. The inside piece is 5 inches by 21/4. in this way you can get 2 flowers pots from one sheet of A4 paper and it will fit nicely in a C6 envelope. The flower Pot card has been around for a long time but I wasn't yet a SU convert at the time it was very popular so I have really enjoyed making these today- they have been on my "to do " list for a while. I have used Cajun Craze as my base card and where there didn't seem to be enough texture to the base I have stamped in versa mark using the Clockworks background stamp. I used a variety of Ribbons/twine old and new and some retired buttons for decoration on the closure. To decorate the lip of the pot I have used a variety of embossing folders. For flowers I used a combination of Mixed Bunch,

JAI #212, Ex Libris Tucked flap Card in Coastal Cabana

Some days it takes for ever to get things together.... I have been planning to make one of these cards for ages but despite it looking relatively simple thanks to Natasha Schwecke's fabulous instructions it just didn't come together easily for me today. So after 4 attempts this is where I stopped! (still not 100% happy with it…) I used the Circle Framelits and the Petite Petals stamp set and Punch , and the beautiful Ex Libris stamp for the background. The Brown Sugar base is textured using a sharp blade run along the edges, and I have used the Everything Eleanor swirl on top which is heat embossed with White Powder. Everything had glitter applied to it today - some days you need to add sparkle, so the butterfly was the obvious choice! The Papillon Potpourri  butterfly was coloured using the Blender Pen and Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana inks. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs .  Natasha's instructions are on Stampin connection and she doesn't appear to have a

Framed Delight in Luscious Reds

I'm back at The Handmade Expo Markets in Rockhampton this weekend, so this month I have added a Red Flower Shop Frame. ( This is the same technique as the 2 frames I have posted earlier) I also added in some hessian ribbon and some vintage Vogue Paper Tape Measure I found in an old sewing pattern - thought it fitted with all the buttons nicely! I also added a few thin strips of DSP which I curled around some fine tweezers to act as tendrils. I used Cherry Cobbler, Real Red and the typewritten DSP. I was sending special happy thought to one of my sisters who simply loves red. may have to make her one soon! thanks for looking Liz (sorry the photography is not the best)

Just Add Ink#209 - Just Add Layers

White heat embossed Hello Doily stamp on crumb cake, mounted on Early Espresso Cardstock, layered up on a Soft Sky card base which I embossed for some added texture. The Happy Birthday sentiment from Label Love is heat embossed with the Pool Party embossing powder, sponged with Soft Sky ink and layered up on soft Sky and Early Espresso C'ordinations cardstock which has been sanded. The little flower is made using the Boho blossoms punch and the layers are held together with the flat base brad topped with a little pearl. The pool party twine from the Sale-a-Bration pack works well too. A few little sequins and pearls for bling, and the leaf image from Summer Silhouettes to finish it off. The leaves have a few silver ink highlights added. thanks for looking, Liz

Easter Eggs in a Birdhouse Box ( Catalogue CASE)

I'm so thrilled with how these little guys turned out!!! As you may have noticed from recent posts I am on a bit of a roll with 2-4-6-8 boxes. They are so easy and quick to make - mostly!! This one is a little more detailed but very worth the trouble. One of the ladies at my Easter class wanted to order the set on page 87 of the catalogue and when we looked at it I was inspired by the cute little birdhouse at the bottom of the page. This is a CASE of that picture, with a few of my own touches. For the timber of the house I used the fabulous new Hardwood (130322)  large stamp and used Early Espresso on crumb cake The base cardstock is 21 cm x 14.7. - I love it when I can get 2 projects neatly from one sheet of A4., scored in the usual way   The roof is Early Espresso C'oredinations embossed using the new Arrows EF (132187) and sanded-  (looks like roof tiles don't you think?) 2" strip x 51/2 ". For my other boxes I used the scalloped tag topper punch for t
