Just a quick post, Card Class this Sunday, you will be making a gorgeous 3D popup flower box birthday card which fold flat into the envelope you will make to match. As well as 2 cards with a hexagon theme which were one of the cards demonstrated at Convention by the very talented and gentle Ngairi from WA ( don't want to misspell her name, will get back to that detail) here I did take a better photo on Instagram but I'm not sure Yet! how to put that up here... Hope you can join me. these are some more of Ngairi's cards - apologies for the photos. Thanks for looking, Liz

Making cards using scraps - my Convention Swaps

Just heading home from Stampin' Up! convention in Melbourne and it was a whole new experience for me. I learnt so much and met so many people I have seen as an online presence which was really nice. The US team who presented sessions were all very enthusiastic and energetic and so friendly. I do love the atmosphere of sharing - ideas, support, techniques and wisdom. The culture within the complany is quite amazing."Inspire, Create, Share" I managed to complete a few swaps and thought I would share.  I have quite a stash of leftover scraps as I am hopeless at throwing out things so have tried to create something that makes use of all those strips. These are made using strips of various width crumb cake, all embossed with different folders and lightly sponged. There are some panels cut from the white heat embossed Hello Doilly stamp.( I am really sad that this is retiring soon, so get in touch if you want your own, it's a must have!) I have adhered all the stri

SSSC#220 By the Tide

This weeks sketch at Sweet sunday sketch challenge is a great layout , The inside. I have been playing with this set a lot and have seen lots of great cards on Pinterest so if any of these look like yours I thank you for the inspiration. for my Challenge sketch i have used the Colours Midnight muse, Crumb Cake and Pool Party along with some of the DSP from Epic Day set, some Natural ribbon and Candy Dots in Marina Mist. The two tone ink on the fish was achieved using pen to rubber with the midnight after inking the stamp from the inkpad with the pool party. And of course a little bit of glitter using the Dazzling Details for the scales and some bubbles. I have a few other samples using the same set to share.  old olive never seems to photograph well as a true colour, sorry about the photography. thanks for looking, Liz

Sweet Sunday sketch SSSC#219

In a bit of a rush today so just a quick post. "Live in the sunshine, swim in the sea, drink the wild air".... A beautiful quote. Love this sketch from sweet Sunday sketches and I have CASED the fabulous Nikki Spencer with her water drop technique . I have been wanting to try this or a while and love how it turns out. I was inspired by this card of hers For my card I just kept sponging with multiple layers of colour..(coastal Cabana, baked brown sugar) and of course sunshine yellow in Daffodil Delight and some Early Espresso c'oredinations cardstock torn and textured for effect. The shell is of from By the Tide. Thanks for looking, Liz

Just a quick post, CASED this card from pinterest (Lisa Young at addinkandstamp.blogspot.com). I have had a lot of requests for Masculine themed cards and I think this fits the bill. I love the versatility of this stamp set and we will be doing something very similar at my next card class, let me know if you would like to join in, Thanks for looking, cheers, Liz

Mother's Day Card In a Box. SUO#96 Birds, Bees & Butteflies

After flowers, butterflies would have to be the next most common attachment to my cards, so I didn't have to agonise for too long over what to do! Have had this card in a box half done for ages so it is good to have finished it. It is actually a Mother's Day card. I used Summer Silhouettes and Nature Walk , and a tiny bit of glitter(of course). (Instructions are as per the earlier posts of card in a box (january 2014 )   Thanks for looking, Liz

JAI#213

Love this inspiration picture. Here's my take on it. I don't use chevrons too often so that was a challenge for me - the circle thinlits flip card has a chevron shape in it so I used that on the Pink Pirouette cardstock and layered the gold glimmer paper behind it. The pink still seemed too strong so I layered some vellum over the top to tone it down a bit. The little flowers I made using the scallop flower shape from the Boho Blossoms Punch cut into a spiral . ( I tried the spiral flower die with tissue but it was a disaster this time..., and the cardstock spiral seemed too big, maybe next time…) The pale blue sequins are leftover from an old dancing costume adventure and they seemed the perfect colour. The Mr & Mrs is heat embossed with gold onto White Shimmer Paper, and of  course seam binding ribbon, buttons and Linen thread. thanks for looking, Liz
