The Colour Tree Challenge #12 and CAS(E) this sketch

Well I hope you have all had a Happy Easter. I certainly did and ran out of time for crafting before the weekend, so I am quite late to join the Colour Tree Challenge for this week. However, the colours are so gorgeous that I did make 2 cards which I would love to share with you. I love the new Timeless Textures stamp set and all the amazing effects you can achieve with it. I think it particularly lends itself to masculine cards too. Mossy Meadow is such a strong colour it certainly looks great cut as the leaf skeleton from the Rose Wonder thinlits . Mossy Meadow will be retiring along with Lost Lagoon in only a few short months and I will be sad to see them go, so make sure you have your ink refills before the stock runs out. It was a good opportunity to use up some thick bakers twine in those colours, and some timber flags from an old Project Life kit too. I took the layout from CAS(E) this sketch and had some fun with these colours. While I had the colours out I

CTC#72, CASEing sale a bration with a Flower Power Love Bug

Happy Easter to YOU and your family! I hope you are enjoying the break. Welcome back to the Blog hop this Easter Weekend. You have possibly come from Kathryn's beautiful blog, so welcome.  I know everyone gets busy this time of year, and we are going away camping with a few families who are old friends. It's going to be great. About half of the people coming have to drive quite a long way to get here (Usually it's us travelling in the other direction) so it's very exciting to have them coming home. So in preparation for this weekend I have CASE'd a layout from the Sale-A Bration Catalogue (bottom right on page 10) and made some thnkyou cards for them. The "Beautiful Ride" stampset is perfect for the  people who are coming and it's so cute to stamp with. I have CASEd my fellow designer from CTC Rachel Palmiere who recently used this set and stamped directly onto DSP and cut out the car shape from the pattern -Perfect!!  (CTC#70 March 13) I sa

Using paper Scraps for FMS#228

The focus of my next class is using up pretty paper scraps. We all have loads of gorgeous papers in our stash and sometimes we just need a push to get started to actually use them up. So A simple layout is essential to show off the pretty patterns and this week sketch at FMS is ideal.   I did add a few extra details with the stitching and ribbon. The lovely sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set.  The gorgeous Pretty Petals Paper stack is on sale in the Weekly Specials until Wednesday. Click on the image below if you would like to purchase yours through my online store. If you are in Central Queensland and interested in coming to classes you are more than welcome. You can contact me by email or on Facebook thanks for looking, Liz

Global Design Project #027 Thankyou with an new colour combo

I had such fun playing with the colours from The Colour Tree Challenge #11 and had some watercolour panels left so I decided to make a thankyou card for this weeks challenge at The Global Design Project #027. Feel free to Ink Up and Link Up at the Colour Tree.  The sentiment for this one is the gorgeous script from the Rose Wonder set. I love to say thankyou with a card and I have someone in mind for this one. Thank YOU for looking, Liz

The Colour Tree Challenge#11, Watercolour Coral Birthday for CTS#164

Welcome back for this week's colour challenge at The Colour Tree Challenge #11.  It's a gorgeous colour combo and I had a lot of fun watercoloring with these beauties. This week I have used the sketch design from CAS(e) this sketch. The watercolored panel looked so pretty I didn't want much to cover it over so a simple sentiment was all it needed, and the CAS(e)this sketch layout #164 was perfect for that. I heat embossed the Birthday greeting onto velum and wrapped that panel around the base piece. The little flowers are punched from a separate spare watercoloured piece, and they hold the twine in place with glue dots. My crafting would be lost without those handy dots. And on the inside- from the fabulous Endless Birthday wishes, just a  little colouring with a blender pen- so simple. It would be great if you could "ink up and link up" your creation using the gorgeous colours at TCTC this week. Happy Stamping, Liz

CTC#71 Easter Chocolate Sliders

Welcome back for another CASEing the Catty Sunday night bloghop. This week we are creating Easter projects - appropriately! and taking inspiration from any of the Catalogues. If you are on the hop you will have come from the fabulously talented Jess . I am drawing my inspiration from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue and the gorgeous vellum gift bag on page 5. I love Easter Eggs but a block of beautiful chocolate makes a lovely gift and the Chocolate Slider is an oldy but a goodie when it comes to packaging.  I recently made a heap of these and sold them at The Handmade Expo Markets. They are great because you can decorate them all individually. So for this week's post I have created a few more. The beautiful marble paper from the Sale-a Bration catalogue was perfect but sadly I have run out.... so I experimented with some other patterned paper and was quite happy with those results too. I heat embossed the sentiment on the paper for a bit more punch, I replaced the white tea

Flowering Fields Card Set

Just a quick post showing some of the notecards we made at our February class. The prescored notecards and envelopes make these a great way to build a set quickly. The retired Flowerpot DSP has some really cute monotone geometric designs and they were perfect for making the envelope liners. These are simple and quite quick to put together. Thanks for looking, Liz

Sprinkles of Life Gift Set

The Sprinkles of Life set is so cute, and you can make cards simply and quickly or you can spend ages playing around with the little bits and pieces. The Tree Builder Punch is amazingly versatile and I'm sure there will be a thousand possibilities with all the shapes. These samples are a bit of both! and they are based on what we made in the class on the weekend. The 2 1/2" Circle Punch never leaves my desktop as I use it so often, it was perfect for this card. This makes a cute gift set. I try hard not to hang on to leftover bits and pieces - the hoarder in me has to be tamed! So using up the scrap strips from the Irresistibly Yours DSP inside ticked that box, and as you know I like little circles as they use up leftover paper too, repeating the circle images on the inside ties the card together.  You can check out another recent design using scraps of circles here . (Hint-  in the inside strip they don't need to be

TCTC#10 with a sketch from FMS#227

Hello again, I am so happy to have a card for you using the fabulous colours at The colour Tree Challenge#10. It's a beautiful neutral colour palette and perfect for a masculine thankyou which I was asked to make. I love the leaf image form the World of Dreams set and the sentiment is from one of the Sale-A- ration sets which you can still earn, Perfect  Pairings . I had to hunt for some chocolate chip as I don't own the ink, but was really happy to find some old DSP. The colour does tone very nicely with the Tip Top Taupe. Chocolate Chip is not a shade that sees too much use lately,so it's nice to see it out on display! Thanks for looking, please have a go at creating a project using the colour inspiration and we would love you to link up to the challenge. Liz

CTC#70 CASEing the Sale -a Bration Sketches

HI again, and welcome back to CTC - can you believe we are up to #70 already? This week we are using the Sale-a-Bration catalogues again- not too many more weeks and it will be over again for another year, but there is still time to get your favourite set for free with your $90 purchase. You may have come from Jackie's blog  or you maybe starting here. Sit back and enjoy the projects. I have chosen the sketch on the front page of the supplement for the recent releases - the same sketch as Julia this week, but with quite a different result. This is the first time I have inked up this lovely set and I really enjoyed the layering. My roses are done in Pink Pirouette as the base, Blushing Bride second, and Rose Red for the top detail, while the leaves are Mint Macaron and Cucumber Crush. I think the collage stamping suits a 90th birthday - what do you think? And just to decorate the inside, a little touch of collage stamping with some added Timeless Texture.
