CI03 Marina Tiles crazy collage

Welcome back for the Colour INKspiration colour challenge #03.

This week's colours are based on this cute tile seaside pic that Bronwyn chose
I have to say I struggled with these colours for a while, and I tried several different approaches. In the end I was inspired by the tiles and the pattern made in putting them together. I also loved the Raised accents in Solid White .

So I revisited an old scrapbook of mine with some old layouts which I have admired along the way, and found several of them I liked using tiled layouts of inchies etc.

In the end I watercolored two pieces of watercolour paper using Marina Mist, Peekaboo Peach and Soft Sky, drying the paper between each colour so they didn't just bleed together in a brown mess!
I cut them randomly into several squares using the stitched framelits(not the tiny one-the next one up)
Then I decorated each one with some subtle stamping using either Soft Suede or using tone on tone stamping using Timeless Textures

I then heat embossed small images  from Affectionally Yours or Timeless Textures in White onto the finished tiles.

The Sunshine thinlits have the word sunshine which I cut from silver foil and then trimmed down to be the word I wanted - because it matches with the inside sentiment from High Tide (another truly fabulous set!). And to highlight the white I cut a few sprigs using the Flourish Thinlits and tied them in place with White Baker's Twine.
It's quite a large card at 51/2" square so I made an envelope using the matching DSP. And the inside is decorated with a leftover strip of the watercolour paper.
Here's a bit more closeup of the detail.
It was not a fast card to make but I was very satisfied with the end result.

My original idea was using the Hey Chick set, but I'll post photos of those cards tomorrow. So make sure you have filled in your details in my FOLLOW ME BY EMAIL box on then right side of this page.

Next on the hop this week is Mel

I'm keen to see how everyone else has used the colours.
Or if you are lost you can find the full crew here.

Don't forget we love to see how you are Inspired too. So get inky and creative and post your photo in the album and on our Facebook page.

Thanks for looking today, Liz

I'm happy to answer any questions you have about how I made this so feel free to comment!
