CTC#159 CASEing the Christmas Catalogue

Last CASEing the Catty hop for the year- boy that's been a busy year.
I'm finishing with a quick and easy layout. I've been actively looking for cards in the catalogues that use up DSP, so this week's layout fits that criteria for me.
I am also using one of the new sets which will be available from January 3 - unless you are a demonstrator - or become one before Jan 3 - in which case you can order it now.

I think this set is going to be hugely popular- it's fun, whimsical, punchy and it doesn't require too much colouring! And it has a brilliant sentiment for a belated card - which I seem to need quite often. I've used it today.

And here's the layout that inspried me on page 47.

  • A large circle with some simple stamping set to the right of the card
  • a large piece of DSP set to the right edge of the card
  • some coloured ribbon wrapped around under the circle featurand tied as a bow
  • a sentiment stamped in the same colour and layered up on the circle
very Easy , and while my colouring isn't great I am enjoying using the blends more and more.

There's such a lot of inspiration in the catalogue  and from all the design team members. I hope you are able to get time to create something too- and we'd love to see it. Pop a photo on our Facebook page.

Next on the hop this week is Bec- she's done such a fabulous job this year keeping us all on track.

Before me this week is Julia

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"

cheers, Liz

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
